Born in the Brume to a stonemason and a homemaker, Aurélin grew up without many of the creature comforts taken for granted by the upper class. His father, like so many others, was killed after being called to the front lines during the Dragonsong War.Aurélin's mother found work as a maid in the home of a minor noble family that served House Fortemps. This left Aurélin to watch over his younger sisters, then 12 and 9. He himself had only a mere 15 summers behind him.Roving groups of Inquisitors, Temple Knights, and entitled "holy men" often passed their time harassing Aurélin and the other lowborn youth trying to survive life in the underbelly. It was out of desperate need to protect his sisters that he began turning favors for these brutal men. If they focused on him, they would leave the rest of them alone.Eventually, Aurélin too was called to the front. He took up the bow and a position on the wall, seeing that his family was protected by House Fortemps in exchange.So goes the story, anyway.Aurélin currently serves as Head of House for the Gilded Asp in Ul'dah.
